The Punjab Rural Support Programme (PRSP) was incorporated, in November 1997, as
a company under section 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984.
It is currently operating in 28 Districts of the
Punjab
with the “Core” Program and through other
interventions in Partnership with the Government(s) and certain
Donors. The “Core” Program activities
are overseen by 3 Regional Offices located at
Faisalabad
,
Multan
and
Sialkot
. These three Regions operate the “Core”
Program through 63 “Social Mobilization Teams” (SMTs) in 19 District Offices.

Help alleviate poverty and to this
end enhance household income, empower the dis-empowered and improve the quality
of life of the poor in the rural Punjab.

PRSP's mission shall be best achieved through organizing the poor households, creating
solidarity groups, building their capacity to explore, create and grasp opportunities
for the alleviation of poverty. PRSP mission for the rural poor shall be best achieved
only with social guidance, with counselling, advocacy, technical assistance provided
by a specialized organization till such time that the poor acquire the capacity
of creating and using the opportunities without such support.
